You can use Cbus Industry Super to help save for your retirement by using your employer superannuation contributions. You can also make your own personal contributions.

Product Overview

Cbus Industry Super has low fees, pays no commissions and the Balanced investment option (Core Strategy - the default option, formerly known as Cbus Super) has returned an average of 10.9% per annum, as at 30 June 2007, after fees and charges, since inception in 1984.  It also provides 24-hour-a-day insurance cover.

Good Returns - Core Strategy (the default option) returned 17.6% in 2006/2007 (after fees and charges). See Investment Performance for further details.

Low Fees - Cbus only charges fees to cover its costs and has very competitive administration and investment management fees. Cbus returns all profits to members, and also invests back into Australia's building and construction industry. See Product Information - Fees & Charges for further details.

Insurance Cover - at the time of joining you can choose up to 6 units of insurance (death and total and permanent disablement) cover, without having to provide medical evidence (subject to eligibility criteria: read the Product Disclosure Statement for details).  Each unit costs $1.95 per week. The default cover is 4 units if you are aged over 21 and 2 units if you are aged under 21. The maximum amount of cover you can select with medical evidence is 10 units.

Binding Death Benefit nomination - From 1 April 2008 Cbus have introduced the option of Binding Death Benefit nominations for those Members who are seeking greater certainty about who will receive a benefit in the event of their death.  For more information click here.

Investment Choice - when you join Cbus, you can choose from five diversified investment options. If you do not specify an option, your money is placed in the Core Strategy (default) option. See Investments - Investment Options for further details.

Contributions - as well as accepting your employer contributions, Cbus accepts personal contributions such as ‘salary sacrifice' (pre-tax), ‘voluntary' (after tax), rollovers and the Government Co-contribution. See Adding to Your Super for more information.

Portable - you can stay with Cbus even if you change employers.
