Eligibility for Electech cover
To be eligible for insurance under the Electech scale you must need the following:
- You must be receiving on-time employer contributions from a Cbus participating employer; and
- You must have completed a Membership Application form and declared that you are currently employed within the electrical and communications industries as defined within the National Electrical, Electronic and Communications Contracting Industry Award 1998 in the classification of electrical ‘tradesperson’ or electrical ‘non-trades’ employee; and
- You must be in active employment on the date cover commences. If this provision is not met, you will receive full death cover and new events TPD cover until you are in active employment, at which time full TPD cover commences; and
- Not be applying for, entitled to, or have not been paid a Total and Permanent Disablement benefit from any superannuation fund or life insurance policy. If this provision is not satisfied, then you are only eligible for death cover; and
- You must not be applying for, entitled to, or have not been paid a Terminal Illness benefit from any superannuation fund or life insurance policy. If this provision is not satisfied, then you are not eligible for any cover under Cbus; and
- Aged between 15 and 70.
