Planning for retirement
It's always the right time to plan
Because super is one of the most tax-effective ways to invest your money it makes sense to give your super a boost in the lead up to retirement.
You have a range of ways that you can make extra contributions to super.
-
Salary sacrifice - Arrange with your employer to pay extra into your super from your before tax salary
-
Personal contributions – You can make extra contributions to your super from your after-tax salary. These contributions are known as personal or non-concessional contributions.
-
Government Co-contribution – If you’ve made a personal contribution to your super, you might be eligible for a super top up from the Government.
There are lots of different roads to retirement, but which one is right for you?
Cbus can guide you along the way, with expert advice and a range of options to help your super go the distance.
Make the Transition to Retirement
You don't have to wait until you've stopped working to start benefitting from your super. By transferring some of your super into a Cbus Transition to Retirement (TTR) facility, you can:
-
Work part-time and use payments from your TTR facility to supplement your reduced income;
-
Work full-time and use your TTR facility to provide some or all of your income. You can then salary sacrifice more of your wages into super, providing potential tax savings while boosting your super account balance.
Retire with a Cbus Super Income Stream
A Cbus Super Income Stream provides a flexible, tax-effective source of income during retirement.
You decide how much income (within certain limits) you want to receive each year and how often you want to be paid. You can change your payment amount and/or frequency at any time and can also make lump sum withdrawals from your account if required.
For more information on Cbus TTR and Cbus Super Income Stream, download the Cbus Super Income Stream PDS or call 1300 368 212 and we'll send you a copy.
