Investing in regional shopping destinations

Where people shop, work, meet and connect

Cbus Property is continuing to build a strong diversified property portfolio and has recently acquired 50 per cent interests in both Westfield Carindale in Brisbane and Lakeside Joondalup in Perth, representing a significant expansion of its retail portfolio.1

Lakeside Joondalup and Westfield Carindale are among Australia’s leading Super Regional shopping centres and will further strengthen Cbus Property’s growing retail portfolio to span New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.

From Sydney to the Gold Coast, and Brisbane to Perth, these shopping centres are places where people shop, work, meet and connect. For members, they also form part of our property portfolio that is focused on high-quality assets that can deliver strong long-term returns over time.

The two new centres build on an existing retail portfolio that includes Macquarie Centre in Sydney’s North Ryde and Pacific Fair Shopping Centre at Broadbeach Waters on the Gold Coast. Together, Cbus Property now owns centres in four cities and three states, with exposure to millions of visitors each year.

Building long-term value for members

The latest acquisitions build on the success of Cbus Property’s prior retail investments. Over the past five years, Pacific Fair and Macquarie Centre have performed strongly, supported by retail sales growth and high occupancy.

Strengthening our position in Queensland

Westfield Carindale strengthens our presence in Queensland and is one of the state's premier retail destinations, providing a mix of fashion, food, entertainment and essential services in Brisbane’s east. Alongside Pacific Fair, we now have exposure to two of Queensland’s leading retail and community hubs.

With the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games expected to support investment, population growth and infrastructure development across the region, Queensland remains a strong focus for future property activity.

Growing in the west

Lakeside Joondalup is also complementary to the existing retail portfolio. Located in Perth’s northern growth corridor, it is one of Western Australia’s leading regional shopping centres. The centre offers a mix of retail, dining and lifestyle experiences, supported by a high-quality tenant mix and co-located train station.
