Working at Cbus
We support a positive and inclusive work culture, providing a supportive and friendly environment to help grow your career.
Who we are
We're Australia's leading Industry Super Fund for the building, construction and allied industries.
A message from our CEO, David Atkin
“Cbus is proud to be the national industry superannuation fund for construction and building workers. Our members help to build Australia and we are proud to support them as they plan and prepare for retirement through their working lives.
"Cbus was formed in 1984 when construction and building workers won the right to superannuation and established BUS and AUST (later merged to form Cbus). We now have over 741,000 members, $36bn of member funds under management and receive contributions from over 122,000 employers (as at December 2016).
At Cbus our commitment is to our members and our purpose is to create value for them that enables confidence and financial security both now and in retirement.
"We aim to build and maintain a workforce that brings together our people to achieve our common goal of putting ‘members at the heart of everything we do’.
"We believe that if we create alignment around our values of Members, Teamwork, Collectivism and Our People; then we will deliver a supportive workplace that encourages accountability, creativity and diversity of thought. We believe this will deliver the best outcomes for our members and our employers.
"We aim to attract and retain talented individuals who are aligned with our purpose and organisational values. We encourage and support all of our people to bring their unique capabilities to our diverse and inclusive environment.
"We are committed to the principles of equity, fairness and inclusion and we seek to embody these in our workplace policies and practices. These settings allow us to deliver on our promises to members, employers and the broader superannuation system. Our people are critical in delivering on these commitments and promises and we hope they will build a meaningful career with us.
"In 2016, I became a Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Pay Equity Ambassador and Cbus launched our Diversity and Inclusion Policy.
"We have increased support for flexible work, improved our parental and primary carers leave policy, launched our Family and Domestic Violence policy and signed the Women In Super Charter.
"We have also set targets for female representation across the entire organisation and our Board. I believe these measures make economic sense and are an integral part of being a progressive dynamic business that reflects the broader community.
"I am proud to lead an organisation that strives for equity, fairness and inclusion for our members, our employers and our people.”
