Media release

Cbus Super today announced the appointment of Tim Elliott as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Tim Elliott brings more than 30 years’ experience in financial services, including close to a decade in executive leadership roles in the superannuation industry.

Cbus Chief Executive Officer Kristian Fok said Tim’s expertise and experience made him the ideal candidate to helm the fund’s finance business unit.

“Tim’s success as a senior leader in the industry superannuation sector means he deeply understands what it means to put members first, which is what Cbus is all about,” he said.

“Having someone of Tim’s calibre join in this critical role will give Cbus a renewed focus on financial management and deeper strategic insight into the fund’s financial performance.”

As Chief Financial Officer, Tim will lead a business unit comprised of finance, data & analytics, business risk and compliance and investment enablement.

Tim joins Cbus from Housing Australia where he was the Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to that, during his seven years as Group Executive Finance, Strategy and Transformation at Aware Super, he led Aware’s finance teams through periods of rapid growth and substantial digital transformation.

Tim has also held senior positions at ESSSuper, StatePlus Super and in banking and investment management.

Tim Elliott said he is excited to be joining and contributing to an organisation with such a strong legacy and clear member focus as Cbus, an opportunity too good to pass up.

“Cbus is more than just an industry-leading fund, it has a unique responsibility to protect and enhance the interests and retirement outcomes of its more than 900,000 members and workers across Australia,” he said.

“With more than $105 billion in funds under management, Cbus is exceptionally well positioned to continue growing those retirement savings and to make sure members enjoy the rewards of their hard work.”
