Increased account security measures

October is Cyber Security Awareness month and data security has never been more important.

To support Cbus members who are Optus customers, we have strengthened existing protections already in place. This includes increased monitoring of transactions and accounts as well as additional security steps when members make enquiries about their account.

This is in addition to existing security measures that protect your account:

  • The need to prove your identity when making enquiries about your account.
  • Multi-factor authentication to make changes to your account online – including to change password or contact details, and request payments or withdrawals from your account.
  • The ability to place a verbal password on your account for an extra level of protection – call us if you haven’t already set this up.

We urge you to stay vigilant for unusual activity, which could also include receiving scam calls.
