Cbus Super awarded Career Fund of the Year 2023

Cbus Super is delighted to be named as SuperRatings Career Fund of the Year 2023.

This award recognises the super fund with the offering that is best tailored to its industry and acknowledges Cbus’ outstanding work as the leading industry super fund for the building, construction and allied industries.

SuperRatings recognised Cbus’s strong focus on engagement with members, advocacy for our members, highly competitive returns and fees, and the Fund’s insurance offering which we tailor to suit our members, ensuring automatic insurance is offered to young or low account-balance workers in high-risk jobs through their super.

Cbus CEO Justin Arter said, “We’re thrilled at the recognition for the specialised and bespoke nature of Cbus, for the offering best tailored to our industry sector and for the recognition of our commitment to excellence for our members. Our connection to our industry extends into the way Cbus invests, we invest in developments and fund projects that also creates jobs across many of the industries our members work in.

“Our members work hard for Australia, they do it tougher than most throughout their working lives in an often hazardous industry. Whether it’s helping members reclaim unpaid super, or assisting the families of members who have been in workplace accidents to have some security during the most stressful of times, the team at Cbus gives it their all.

“Our members need quality life and TPD cover and we provide it, this award has been received after a record year of insurance payouts for our members for death and disability claims. We will continue to advocate for default insurance for workers in hazardous occupations. Our insurance covers those aged under 25 and low balance members (through the dangerous occupation exemption which only a handful of funds offer), who are automatically excluded from default TPD insurance in most other funds.

“SuperRatings recognised Cbus’ competitive total product fees, this year we delivered an administration fee reduction, passing on to our members a benefit of the Cbus growth strategy.

“I’d also like to highlight the supportive work of Cbus’ team of Coordinators over the past year, who assisted our members by visiting worksites during Covid-19 and advising during lockdowns and unprecedented times for the sector to help our members.”

Highlighting the quality of offering of the leading super fund for those who build Australia, Cbus Super was also a finalist in four other categories: SuperRatings MySuper of the Year; SuperRatings MyChoice Super of the Year; SuperRatings Pension of the Year; and SuperRatings Net Benefit Award.
