Can I be paid by cheque?
Yes, but we don’t recommend it as international banks do not generally accept cheques in Australian dollars.
Can I be paid in my own currency?
We only provide payment as either Australian dollars or US dollars.
Can I use telegraphic transfer to my overseas bank account?
Yes, but you’ll need to include the details of your overseas bank account in your online ATO application. Revolut and WISE are not accepted for super payments.
Do I pay tax?
The taxable component of a DASP is subject to different tax rates depending on the type of visa you held: working holiday maker visa holders will pay 65% tax, other visa holders will generally pay 35% tax.
Find out how the DASP is taxed at the ATO.
It’s been six months since I left Australia. Can I still claim my super payment?
If you don’t claim your super within six months, your super will be transferred to the ATO. When you complete DASP application online, these monies will be shown as ‘ATO-held money’.
