Cbus and Media Super have merged

We’re pleased to confirm that Cbus Super and Media Super have merged, so from this week Media Super members are now part of Cbus.

The merger is part of Cbus’ wider growth plan. We’ll leverage scale to deliver enhanced products and services, and to continue to seek out world-class investment opportunities for our 850,000 members (as at 25 March 2022).

By creating a larger fund, we expect all members to benefit through shared operational services, a growing investment pool and other opportunities for both funds.

The merger brings together the two funds’ investment, administration and operations, however the Media Super brand will continue to operate as the leading brand for members in the print, media, entertainment and arts, and broader creative industries.

New member accounts are being prepared

Setting up new member accounts following a merger can take some time, but we’re working hard to make the transition as smooth as possible. This means that for members who have come across from Media Super, some transactions may be paused or delayed while we complete this process. This is explained in more detail in the Significant Event Notices (SENs) that Media Super sent to their members in February.

Visit mediasuper.com.au/merger to access the SENs online and for all other information relating to the merger, including frequently asked questions for former Media Super Pension and Direct Investment Option (DIO) members.

Super Income Stream (including former Pension members)

If you held a pension account with Media Super, your account has been transferred to a Cbus Super Income Stream (SIS) account which isn’t part of the Media Super Division.

Cbus Self Managed (including former DIO Members)

If you were a Media Super member invested in DIO, you may have chosen to move to Cbus Self Managed.
