1 Bligh Street

A global building of influence

For its 50th anniversary, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitats (CTBUH) announced the buildings they believe to be the top 50 most influential buildings from around the world over the past 50 years. When determining which buildings would make the list, consideration was given to the cultural significance, environmental sustainability and economic longevity of each building.

1 Bligh Street, Sydney, was honoured to be recognised in this list as one of the most influential buildings of the past 50 years. 1 Bligh Street joined other influential buildings such as the One World Trade Center in New York, The Shanghai World Financial Center, The Shard in London, and the Willis Tower in Chicago, formally known as the Sears Tower which held the title of the world's tallest building for 24 years.

Bligh Street was praised by the CTBUH for its sizeable public space, Australia's largest 'green wall' on the ground level, as well as being Sydney's first CBD commercial office tower to incorporate blackwater recycling, reducing the use of clean drinkable water by 90%.

Great global recognition for a development built by Cbus Property that’s part of the portfolio Cbus Property manages for members.
