Robbie Campo joins Cbus leadership team

13 July 2017

Cbus Super has appointed Robbie Campo to the newly created role of Group Executive – Brand, Advocacy, Marketing and Product.

Chief Executive Officer David Atkin said Ms Campo brings an impressive set of skills and experience that, combined with Cbus’ strong brand, will drive further strong outcomes for members.

“I’m delighted that someone of Robbie’s calibre and experience is joining our team in a senior leadership role”, Mr Atkin said.

“Robbie comes to the fund after almost two decades working in industry superannuation and has extensive experience working within complex regulatory, political, stakeholder and commercial environments.

“The new role that Robbie is taking up will be responsible for strengthening and growing the strong Cbus brand whose success is underpinned by an unwavering commitment and focus on delivering for our members.

“Our point of difference is our strategy of long term innovative investment in the real economy and the built environment – our investments create jobs and secure retirements for our members.

“Cbus is proud of our record in delivering strong returns for members and with the fund expected to double in size within the next 5-6 years, having the right team in place is an essential part of planning for success.”

Ms Campo said her long-term involvement in the Joint Industry Fund Marketing Campaign, including the long running Compare the Pair campaign, and her experience in advocating for major reforms such as the Future of Financial Advice reforms and system improvements to address the significant gap in women’s retirement outcomes, positions her well to take on the role at Cbus.

“I’m very excited to be joining Cbus, a fund which has successfully navigated extraordinary growth in size and sophistication while remaining true to its founding vision of improving retirement outcomes for its members.  I look forward to being part of Cbus' next stage, building on its strong brand and sustained high levels of member satisfaction and loyalty, to leverage the Cbus voice, innovate product offerings, continue to grow the Fund and secure members’ best interests in the public policy arena,” Ms Campo said.

Mr Atkin said the new role would oversee all aspects of brand, marketing and communications support to the business as well as corporate affairs, industry partnerships, product development and public policy advocacy.

“The Fund continues to grow by all measures – in membership, in employers and in funds under management. We are now positioning ourselves for the next phase of that continued growth and to make sure we maximise opportunities to deliver for members.”

Ms Campo is a senior executive with almost two decades experience in superannuation and financial services. She previously worked at Industry Super Australia as Deputy Chief Executive and as a non-executive director of IFS. She has had long involvement in the Joint Funds Marketing Campaign and advocating to improve the super system to enhance members’ retirement outcomes. She is Chair of the National Policy Committee, and a Director, of Women in Super, and a Non Executive Director of Victoria Legal Aid.

Ms Campo will join Cbus on 31 July 2017.
