Cbus Property wins approval for $1bn Melbourne tower
A significant milestone has been achieved, with Cbus Property receiving a planning permit from the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) for its 435 Bourke Street project in Melbourne.
Designed by Bates Smart, the $1 billion development on the corner of Queen and Bourke streets will introduce approximately 59,000 square metres of office space to Melbourne's CBD. 435 Bourke Street will be a pioneering project for the city that responds to a future Melbourne workforce, with sustainability, wellness, connection to nature and productivity emphasised in the building’s design and performance.
Anticipated to serve as a vertical village, the development encompasses spacious outdoor terraces, premium end-of-trip facilities and a dedicated four-level wellness hub. Rising to 49 levels, the floor configuration will allow for 360-degree views of Melbourne. Demolition of the site’s existing infrastructure has commenced, with construction completion slated for 2023.
